On the shores of the once robust and storied Red Sea, archaeologists recently stumbled upon this ancient manuscript (?) which they surmise represents some type of binary notation. Handing the document over to linguistic anthropologists, the “text” begins to yield its secrets. Musicologists and computer scientist as well as those specializing in symbolic systems are still trying to crack the nut. The buzz going round the ancient studies world is that this fragile remnant may represent the oldest known form of “writing” or notation yet discovered.
