sand frappe
sand bar

Since this was an early Sunday morning project, it seemed like a tie in to morning beverages made sense. I took an old glass (celebrating the 215th anniversary of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary), and after sifting items from the sand, turned it into a sand frappe, complete with foam and sprinkles from the sea. What a mix of sea life! Mussel shells, barnacles, turban snail shells, cobbles, coraline algae, sea grass, and even a chipped small abalone shell.
