Autumn is a good time in this area to repot plants, transplant, divide and plant perennials before the always too little winter rains come. After dumping out the soil in the orchid pot, I found another planter with a now dead cosmos, which had bloomed over some sleeping narcissus bulbs. So, time to mix and match soil, recombine in to the two pots, and stick in some snippets of geraniums. I learned early in life from my grandmother that pieces of certain plants weer good to go just by sticking them in the soil and paying nominal attention. I am lucky to have my grandmother’s green thumb, and geranium clippings are very forgiving. We will see how these do come spring.
