March 1 Day 15 3x5: all that glitters

1 ONE ANNUIT COEPTIS NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM
THE GREAT SEAL OF THE UNITED STATES

The words are clear, the images, when removed from their context, stand alone. The saucer is of papier mache and gold paint, with dollar cut outs and floral stickers from old address labels. I enjoy the two central ornate seals morphing in to the shape of two roast chickens having a chat. The texture of the worn dollar bill reminded me of a child’s much-loved blanket. The French fish fork is from the turn of the century, and the 3×5 handily became a napkin. The note paper box doubles as a tray. Bon appetit!
